~General Rules~
B. No anime/manga names.
Seriously, original names only. There's a filter in effect for this, and finding a way around it constitutes filter avoiding. Names considered "anime/manga" are up to the discretion of any GM/Mod. Some may allow stuff others shall not, and that does not mean it's ok. (It's "Rule B" for Bane, as he's in charge of this.)
Exceptions are names that are "words" like Blaze, Wrath, Nightmare, etc.
This rule is meant to apply to unique names such as Kurosaki, Elric, Yusuke, etc.
0. Freedom of speech.
Subject to the following rules and requires good common sense. Be responsible
0b. Use good grammar.
Come on guys, seriously. If you want respect show the competence to earn it. ONLY exception: those that do not have English as their first language.
0c. Do not filter avoid.
Gotta figure, it's there for a reason. Exploiting it's limitations is just that: exploitation of the code. Which
is punishable.
1. Respect the admins
They are here to help you. If you have a problem, ask them. Don't swarm at them, expect them to be perfect and always right, or get frustrated when you don't get what you want.
If they ask you to do something, within reason try to accommodate them. They could have a good reason you are unaware of.
This does not mean worship them and cater to their every whim. Abusive GMs are serious business, but please do not attack them head-on. Do what you can to avoid trouble so you can report to another GM/Mod.
2. Respect other players
You are a player, just like them. You share the same rights. Some "bad" behavior will be tolerated if it seems you "had it coming."
Also, many veterans have played longer than you. Respect their knowledge and try asking them about how things work.
2a. Don't talk behind other peoples backs
Talking behind peoples backs is unacceptable. If you don't like someone; ignore them and use .block. If you see someone insulting someone behind their backs; let your nearest staff member know, and they will fix things.
2b. Nix Pao If you want to be considered a female, provide nice pics. (Discretion to admins.) Otherwise, we're all just "people" without gender.
3. Do not spam
This includes a repeated pattern or question when it is still visible in chat without scrolling. To be safe, and as not everyone scrollbar is the same size, avoid repeating things in this manner even when it is only visible upon scrolling.
3b. Do not repeat a question constantly
Constantly copy/paste-ing the exact same question into chat when no one answers you makes it unlikely you'll get anywhere. Odds are people will find it annoying and refuse to help you compared to if you were otherwise very polite. Use >.ask to make it more apparent, ask someone specific, and/or rephrase your question. Don't forget about the wiki!
4. Racism/Sexism is not acceptable
This is just not cool doods. Don't discriminate, that includes regarding any/all races, elasticities, religious groups, sexual orientation, and anything else that can be categorized.
5. Bug abuse CAN be tolerated
Zhug avoids bans like crazy. People CAN be banned, but there is no "you'll get banned" rule. That said, an unruly player can still be banned if that's the consensus.
A player found bug abusing is not burned at the stake. If they come forward to be as helpful as possible in resolving the bug, there may even be no action taken. If they are non-cooperative it could result in a stat/level downgrade, and/or skill loss as per GM control. (Or just a save wipe.)
5b. Minor rule breaking CAN be tolerated
It's up to the judgment of those that witness any rule breaking what punishments fit. If someone is generally alright, occasionally breaking a few rules is easily tolerated. Same goes for several people 'going along with' a discussion that is immature/crass/discriminatory. Once again, this is up to the discretion of the Mod/GMs there at the time.
If in doubt, don't push it.
6. Don't waste admin/mod time
If you are about to ask a question and you think a GM/Mod will say no, then don't ask it.
Game suggestions should be posted in this forum, as the owner (zhug) does not have the memory (or patience to record in detail) all the suggestions said to him.
Bug reports have their own section in-game to be submitted. This list is checked several times a day, so if it's there it will be noticed. If you have further information, or are participating in further narrowing down bug causes, this does not apply. (You are free to discuss bugs actively being hunted.)
6b. Do not ask for edit / hax / requirements /events
This is wasting their time. It is. You will not get it, and might even be punished for simply asking.
7. Do not block entrances in-game
There's not a whole lot of places you can do this, but it's still not cool. If you're in someone's way don't be surprised if they don't hesitate to kill you to get past.
This includes using Area of Effect skills (such as Gonzui, Blind, Poison, etc) next to spawning points.
8. Let GMs & Mods be the GMs & Mods
Sound redundant? Guess not.
Enough with "backseat" mods. Doesn't matter if you're trying to show good "responsibility" for possibly getting that position. If you aren't, do not act like you are. This does not mean that you cannot help people, so long as what you're helping with does not break any other rule.
9. GMs (not Mods) reserve the right to add/change rules at their discretion.
42. What Zhug en Nar says/does, goes.
~Unofficial Rules~
a. Newbie protection
This can apply to many things, but for this example: edits.
If a player has Poison Bankai or Sniper Kraft changed via Edit (or in any other way) it shall automatically be assumed that the GM was acting for
The Greater Good, and attempting to prevent unfair deaths for those unable to fight back / unable to run away within reason.
Therefore, any complaints of such changes shall be ignored, for the most part, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
