Nora comes from AngelTillman's alma mater. She has had what appears to be fho surgery and hernia repair. She is presently in foster care.

This is a CROSS POST:

More About Nora-PLS HELP

New Update - We are pleased to let everyone know that Nora has almost fully recovered from her surgery and is doing great! Nora is now ready to find her new forever home! Nora loves children but older kids are recommended because Nora doesn't always know her size! She is not good with small animals but enjoys spending time with dogs that are larger. She is just an absolute love bug. All she wants in life is to give kisses and be petted. Nora is a couch potato - She loves going for walks, however, cannot walk to far due to her hip. She has recovered quite well from surgery and just has a limp. If you are the special family Nora is wishing for, please contact her foster family through CamCoShelter@yahoo.com! She is very protective of her home and will bark and growl when a stranger comes to door. Once you reassure her it’s ok, she is fine.
Update - We have very exciting news to share about Nora! Thanks to all of the donations we received and one VERY LARGE donation from a special angel, Nora has had her surgery!!! Here is the E-mail we received from Nora's foster family and thank all of you for caring about this gentle, loving baby!
'Hello All,
Nora is out of surgery and awake. She is doing fantastic and can come home tomorrow.
Dr. John advised that this surgery was not a normal one, the hip has been out of the socket for years and started to fuse to the top of the hip bone (bone on bone rubbing) and she was riddled with scar tissue. She will be sent home with antibiotics and pain meds. She must rest for 2 days and then Dr. John wants her up and moving. Plenty of short walks and he would love to see her get some swimming in. Unfortunately, my friend who has the in-ground pool does not have steps that would allow us to get her in and out of. Dr. John suggested maybe a lake. She is NOT allowed any running as Dr. John fears she would damage the other leg or tear an ACL (knee).
Nora will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks!
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Nora! And a great big hug and kiss to Barbara for her huge contribution to Nora's surgery. Barbara, you are my Angel!'
Original Posting - This very special girl is Nora! Our poor Nora was brought to our Shelter in very bad shape. Her hip is completely out of its socket, among other problems, and she can barely walk, let alone play. One of our wonderful volunteers knew that Nora could not survive in our Shelter and has taken her into foster care. Nora is not available for adoption at this time. She has a long road to go and her foster is going to stick right with her the whole way. BUT WE CANNOT AFFORD NORA'S SURGERY WITHOUT DONATIONS. Nora will have a procedure where her femur bone will be cut and the hip socket removed. She will be left with one leg shorter than the other but will be PAIN FREE!! Once that extensive surgery is finished, Nora will need a second round to be spayed and have a hernia repaired. We are looking at approximately $2,000 to get our girl healthy and happy! Nora's foster mom prays every night to see the day when Nora can run and play with their other rescued mastiff, Denver. We can't make this a reality without your help! Please help us help Nora - We want to save this beautiful baby and get her out of pain! Nora-PLS HELP is up-to-date with routine shots and house trained.
