Sure seems like it!

Kimberly M, whose dogs have been featured in DogFancy a few times (a wonderful tribute and educational opportunity to the Lethal White!) has some great answers when we question our pups' abilities.

Sometimes we overlook or don't notice how important vibrations, both sound and
air, are to deaf dogs. I'm not saying Mazie doesn't have some hearing, but I
often find with both the deaf people and the deaf dogs in my life that they
"seem to hear" sometimes, when in reality they are picking up on cues that I, as
a hearing person, am not picking up on.... I know that I'm not as "in tune" with
vibrations as a deaf person or dog is.

Maybe Mazie is picking up on vibrations and "air currents" from you and your
husband moving around the house that make it seem like she can hear.

Deaf/blind dogs, especially, use vibrations and air movements, even more so than
"just" deaf dogs. Dakota and Kelen are amazing at knowing where I am and what I
am doing. I could almost swear they could hear and see.... lol.

My deafblinds BOTH reacted to ULF on the television. Ultra low frequency. Elephants use to communicate up to 25 miles. When the ULF was on the animal planet, both deafblinds started barking.

I started to research ULF in deafs and I was amazed that deaf children can 'hear' ULF.

At a rescue event not too long ago, I spoke with a young man who was a budding scientist and extremely interested in my deafblinds. We talkeda bout a signal being transmitted through the fenced yard at ULF to call them in for dinner or the night. It was FASCINATING! The possibilitiies are endless!

My surviving deafblnd knows every move I make. Every heartbeat emits an electrical signal. Every time I breathe, my deaflblind knows it. Every time I move, he knows. Every move I make, he tracks me. It MUST be the electrical impulses I emit. He even knows when the mama upset with the pack and he lets me know he is blameless Smile Electricity is in every living being. I firmly believe the deafblind feels this emission.
